- Burkinabè nationals;
- Cooperatives with Burkinabè participation;
- Enterprises and companies set up under Burkina Faso laws with the majority of the share capital being Burkinabè;
- an application to the Ministry of Mines;
- the identity and address of the applicant or his representative;
- the mineral substances to be mined;
- the definition of the summits of the area requested;
- the surface requested that must be less than 100 hectares (1 Square km) ;
- the extract of the topographical map at 1/200 000 locating the surface of the requested area;
- the proof that the applicant is not in a situation of bankruptcy or winding-up;
- the brief description works to be contemplated;
- the list of required staff;
- a commitment of the applicant to comply with environmental regulations in force;
- the payment receipt of the fixed duty should be produced in a deadline of 10 working days after approval of the application.
- an application to the Ministry of Mines;
- a progress report for the 2 years accompanied with expenses incurred;
- a description of works planned for the next 2 years;
- the list of staff;
- the payment receipt of the fixed duty.
Attribution procedure
Attribution of the authorization to:
Application: Submitted in the Service of Mining Cadastre in three copies, with acknowledgment of receipt.
Documents making up the application file:
Attribution: by decision of the General Director of Mines, Geology and Quarries
Term: 2 years renewable as long as required by its recipient for 2-year periods.
Application processing deadline: 1 month maximum after reception of the Council of the rural Community concerned.
Renewal procedure
Application: Submitted at the Service of Mining Cadastre in three copies, with acknowledgment of receipt at least two months before the expiration of the term.
Documents making up the application file:
Renewal attribution: by decision of the General Director of Mines, Geology and Quarries
Deadline for renewal application processing: maximum 2 months after submission of the full application.
Others possibilities are given to the beneficiaries:
Amodiation (Sub-lease): upon application sent to the Minister of Mines processed and making sure that the applicant complies with all the requirements relating to the works and that the sub-lessee offers at least the same guarantees of obligation implementation.
Transmission: upon request sent by the heirs to the Minister of Mines in a deadline of 6 months after the decease of the holder.
Waiving: authorized at any time but must be approved by the Mining Administration.
Transformation of the artisanal authorization into a small scale mine: in case of discovery of an important deposit within the area of the authorization.
