Avocet has agreed the sale of its Burkina Faso assets

 Avocet announced that it has entered into an agreement to sell all of its assets in Burkina Faso, including the Inata gold mine, together with certain receivables of the Company’s group to the Balaji Group of companies for a total consideration of USD 5 million. 

Completion of the transaction is expected to occur on 11 January 2018, conditional upon the satisfaction of a condition as described below.

Burkina Faso that was long time underexplored for gold despite its excellent geological setting emphasized by it series of prolific greenstone belts, is now known as Africa’s Fastest Growing Gold Producer. Burkina’s gold output jumped more than 20 times in a decade becoming the country’s most valuable export, accounting for almost 80% of its incomes. Based on available figures, the Burkina Faso mining sector contributed for CFA F 191 408 000 000 of budgetary revenues in year 2015.

Trevali Mining Corporation acquired Perkoa Zinc mine in Burkina

Glencore has sold its 90% stake in the Perkoa mine in Burkina Faso, and its 80% stake in the Rosh Pinah mine, as well as its 39% interest in the Gergarub project, both in Namibia, to zinc-focused base metals miner Trevali Mining Corporation for a total consideration of US$417.8-million.

Natougou gold deposit, first pour for 2018

The Natougou Gold Project is located in Burkina Faso, 320km south-east of Ouagadougou the capital city. Within the Diapaga greenstone belt, the deposit is on the Boungou permit belonging to Semafo.
